IDALOU, Texas-Sept. 9, 2001 Grave side services for Essie Seagler, 89 of Lubbock and formerly of Enochs and Idalou, will be 12:30 p.m. today in Idalou Cemetery.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Idalou, with the Rev. Calvin Gray officiating.


Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home of Idalou.

She died Sunday, Sep. 9, 2001.

She was born Jan. 8, 1912, in Patawatami, Okla. She married Regan Seagler on Jan. 19, 1928, in Slaton, Tx. He died in November 1988.


She was a homemaker and seamstress. She was a member of Idalou First Baptist Church and Woman's Missionary Union. She taught Sunday school class for 54 years.


Survivors include a son, Charles of PlainviewTx, three daughters, Ja Nell Turner of Las Cruces, NM., Sandra Herrington of Winnsboro,Tx and Nelda Lane of MidlandTx ; a brother, C.A. Smith of Tye Valley ,Calif.; a sister, Vera Bartlett of Fresno, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.


The family suggests memorials to the Unchained Prison Ministry, 4301 38th St. Lubbock, TX 79413

The family will greet friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. today in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church.
