Raymond and Adron made Wade (Raymond's Son) and me some slingshots. Raymond made the stock for Wade's slingshot out of a forked tree branch. Daddy cut mine out of wood from the end of an orange crate. My slingshot stock broke. It was hard to find "real rubber" innner tubes during The War, so the "rubber bands" were made from a synthetic rubber inner tube. Synthetic rubber didn't stretch very well.
